How to Identify Profitable ClickBank Affiliate Programs

Becoming an affiliate marketer is something thousands of Internet users dream of. The opportunities are endless, allowing anyone with a computer, a talent at sales and a few dollars to start an at-home business that will bring them steps closer to financial independence.

The biggest and most popular resource used by affiliate marketers is Clickbank, a website that allows anyone to pick up digital products and sell them for a percentage of the profits. But, there are hundreds of products in the Clickbank Marketplace. How do you know which ones are the most profitable?

First off, there are a few factors that will directly affect if a product is going to sell well on the Internet, regardless of how it is created, presented, or provided. It needs to be a product that users will find an immediate need for.

Things like books on dog training, making money online, relationship advice, and online gaming are product types that users would pick up immediately because they need them right then. If someone just broke up with a girlfriend or boyfriend, they don’t want to get in the car and drive to the mall to find a book. They want to find a resource that will help them out immediately and an eBook, sold through Clickbank provides that immediate relief.

Second, you need to find a product that is presented in a unique, attractive manner. Too many products are created and listed online in a way that isn’t attractive to readers. Instead of providing a list of benefits to a visitor, some websites will list features that may not affect them. They might neglect to list all of the aspects of the product at all or might forget to grammar and spell check everything on the page or in the product. No matter how well you do at preselling a potential customer on a product, if the website is a mess, they might walk away without a second look.

Third, the product needs to show some results. Clickbank provides a slew of good tools to help potential affiliates decide which products are most effective in conversions and overall sales. The gravity score for example will tell you how many unique affiliates have made sales in the last 6 weeks. If a gravity score is high it means that a product has multiple successful affiliates and that you’ll be able to join those more easily.

Additionally, you can see the average amount made per sale and the percentage of sales made by affiliates. If a gravity is low and the percentage sold by affiliates is high, then you know that overall sales are probably fairly low.

In the end, the best judge of how good a product is will be your own sensibilities. Make sure you enjoy the product, can see its merit and that the sales copy made by the product creator is effective. Eliminating poorly written, underperforming products or lazy, ill-informed publishers will make your list of potential products much shorter and your chances of success much more substantial.
